Terms of Service

1. User Eligibility & Account Responsibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the legal age required in your country) to create an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, truthful profile information.

2. Intellectual Property Rights in Submissions

You own what you build: Unless an enterprise hackathon explicitly publishes custom sponsor IP terms that you accept upon registration, you retain 100% intellectual property ownership of the software, code, designs, and assets you create and submit.

By submitting a project to a public challenge, you grant Hackerzone a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and showcase your project title, media, and description in our public gallery and social highlights.

3. Hackathon Rules & Organizer Discretion

When joining a specific hackathon, you agree to comply with that event's published timeline, eligibility rules, and scoring rubrics. Hackathon organizers maintain final authority over judging scores, tie-breakers, and prize allocations for their events.

4. Code of Conduct & Prohibited Activities

Users must strictly adhere to our Acceptable Use Policy. Prohibited activities include submitting plagiarized code, harassing other builders, manipulating voting systems, exploiting platform vulnerabilities, or uploading malicious binaries.

5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Hackerzone is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties regarding uninterrupted uptime, zero-defect software, or specific hackathon outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hackerzone shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your platform usage.
